About Artesani Painting & Remodeling

Mission Statement

As a well-established, family business, the Artesani family knows there's nothing more important than a job well done. With leadership passing down from generation to generation and over 60 years of experience in the industry, our excellence and dedication to our craft have only strengthened with time. We work efficiently to deliver results of the highest quality, giving your family the home you've always wanted while allowing you to enjoy it as soon as possible.

New Beginnings

For over 60 years, Artesani and Sons has made its mark as a family-owned construction business. After serving for six years in the US Navy, WWII veteran William A. Artesani, Jr. started the company in January 1949. Originating as a one-man operation, the business showed remarkable growth and by 1960, Artesani had a strong team of 40 employees. It was around this time that son Michael C. Artesani began spending his summers learning the ins and outs of the construction trade. Three years later, William III followed in his older brother's footsteps with summer employment. When William Jr. suffered a heart attack in 1971, his sons took over the business, focusing less on volume of incoming projects and more on high-end, quality work.

Today's Leadership

In 1981 Michael Jr. joined the family business in the tradition of his father and uncle - working on summer job sites and learning the tools of the trade. After he graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Business Administration, Michael Jr. started working full time at Artesani and Sons. Upon his uncle William's retirement in 2004, Michael Jr. became Artesani's Vice President, overseeing the entire operation with his father. Today, the business is still under father/son leadership, preserving the traditional spirit it was founded in.

Noteworthy Achievements

The Artesani family has been a member of the Rhode Island Builders Association, an organization of contractors, for over 40 years. Michael Sr. served as the board’s Secretary, Vice President, and President. Michael Jr. also devotes his time to RIBA as a member of the Board of Directors. Both father and son are Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists by the National Association of Home Builders and, in addition, Michael Jr. is a Certified Green Professional.
